Abstract
This qualitative research study was conducted by interviewing three dance/movement therapists concerning their work with non-monogamous
clients. Coming from a Grounded Theory perspective, what was evaluated during the interviews included what topics participants
witnessed surfacing for non-monogamous clients and the participants’ use of dance/movement therapy (DMT) interventions in
response to these topics. The results of this study manifested in two interweaving layers of thematic material that provide
a jumping off point from which possible implications for DMT interventions with non-monogamous clients can be made. This study
is also meant to provoke a conversation regarding continued multi-cultural competency regarding what it means to be in relationship
and how different relationships manifest in the world.
